History buffs know that Chicago didn’t get its nickname of The Windy City from the gales coming off Lake Michigan. But when the WindPower 2013 Conference and Exposition blew into town last week, Chicago’s moniker had everything to do with the renewable energy source.

I was exhibiting at the show to feature a couple of our products designed specifically for the wind industry. Considering this was my first show for B.A.G. Corp., I was thankful that the WindMule™ and WindMule™ Plus utility bags sell themselves. Passersby were impressed by the capacity of our aerial-lift tool bags and could easily visualize it as a solution to carrying tools, products, or materials up through the winch-deck floor; but the knockout punch came from the price. The most common thing I heard was, “For that price I’ll keep a couple of them folded up behind the seat in my truck! When one wears out, I’ll just grab a new one and keep working.”

Since I was at a conference dealing with renewable energy, the fact that our product is recyclable was a crowd pleaser, as well.

As our needs for energy increase, the wind industry stands poised to carry us into the next age of renewable power sources. Getting to meet some of the pioneers in wind energy and see what they have accomplished in this field has left me excited for the future.  I can’t wait to see where the wind takes us.
